Manyeleti Primary, Acornhoek, Mpumalanga

The Manyeleti Primary School project started on the 13 October 2014, where 22 environmental toilets were build. The project was finished on schedule and the hand over day was held on the 23rd of January at the Manyeleti Primary school, where a traditional ribbon-cut ceremony took place, symbolising the start of a prosperous 2015.

After the completion of the 22 Enviroloos that was built at the Manyeleti Primary School in Acornhoek, Ettiene and Hendrik Pretorius, together with Thuli Mashaba, exceeded the community’s expectations as they contributed their time and effort to upgrade the school’s kitchen and water facilities as a gift. The kitchen was converted into a practical facility whereby three gas burners with three 19kg gas bottles where installed. The staff previously had to prepare food with a wood fire which caused a lot of smoke and soot. Other renovations include the school’s water facilities, which after completion had three taps that carried the soap water away through a pipe instead of pooling up around the old water outlet - consisting of only one tap for the whole school which created mud.
